Plant Echinacea roots in spring, once the last frosts have passed and the soil has begun to warm (March to May). Allow around 40 cm between plants so each one has the space it deserves.
In a dry spring, water generously to help the roots settle in.
Remove faded flowers as they appear to encourage the plant to bloom again. At the end of the season, leave the stems standing. They protect the plant through winter and offer shelter to insects. The following spring, cut them back to make room for new growth.
