Matthiola bicornis
While unimpressive during the day, this flower glows in the dark and has a superb scent at night. The white flowers with white or lilac shades emit their delicious scent from June to August. Chose a location in the garden you enjoy visiting at night, for example close to your patio seating area or your arbour. This branchy plant grows up to 50 cm tall.
Growing instructions
Sow from March to April in seed trays or directly into flower boxes. Transplant out into the field in May at a distance of 30 ✕ 30 cm. Does best in sunny locations.
