Chionodoxa luciliae — Glory of the Snow — is one of the first bulbs to emerge in spring, sometimes still beneath the snow. Its small star-shaped flowers in a luminous lavender blue, adorned with a brilliant white heart, form magical carpets that light up the sleeping garden and nourish the season's first wild bees. Easy, perennial and naturalising effortlessly, it comes back each year in ever greater numbers… until it delightfully takes over the forgotten corners of the garden!
