Marshmallow
Althaea officinalis
Marshmallow is a large perennial plant that can easily grow to a height of six feet. Its leaves are thick and their softness is unparalleled! It produces beautiful, pale pink flowers that are very honey-like and resemble those of the mallow. The candied marshmallow root is the ancestor of marshmallows!
Growing instructions
Sow in early May to July in pots or seed trays. Plant out in summer/autumn in the open ground. Prefers rich soil. Distance 50x50 cm.
