Artemisia absinthium
The Common wormwood 'The Fairy' is a perennial and an exceptional medicinal plant.
It has small, grey-green, slightly velvety leaves. The leaves are slightly bitter and are said to have a positive effect on digestion and intestinal health. It is also the key ingredient in the digestive of the same name and of absinth.
The plant can reach 80 cm in height.
Growing instructions
Common wormwood likes sunny, nutrient-rich locations. Well-drained soil is best.
Sow seeds indoors from March to June in a seed tray to a depth of 0.3 cm. The ideal germination temperature is between 10°C and 20°C. You can plant the seedlings one month after sowing, leaving a space of 30 x 40 cm between plants.
Harvest the leaves during the summer.
