Radish, Scarlet Giant
Raphanus sativus var. sativa
The radish 'Scarlet Giant' can reach an impressive length of 25 to 30 cm!
The root is bright red, and the flesh inside is a brilliant white and very crunchy. Thanks to its size, a single radish is enough to make a magnificent salad. Radishes are harvested 6 weeks after sowing.
Because of the size of its roots, this radish needs to be grown in the ground.
Growing instructions
To enable roots to reach their maximum length, we recommend growing in deep, sandy, pebble-free soil.
Sow from March to August in rows 10 cm apart. Ensure consistent moisture and keep soil loose. Elder leaf mulch helps repel flea beetles. Harvest continuously. Radishes do great intercropped with other vegetables.
