De Bourbonne gherkins

The very best pickles (gherkins), according to French Gourmets. Indeed, crispy-wild do these thin 5 cm long fruits with a spiky skin taste. Put in salt brine over night, dry in the morning, put in sterile glass jars and douse with hot vinegar. So simple! This strain is one of the last one that is not F1-hybrid, which are still available.

Sow in pots from middle of April or directly seed in the open land from middle of May. Plant distances 50x50cm. Gherkins love mature compost and a mulch layer. Cucumbers like the company of the shadow providing sugar maize. Harvest the ripe gherkins every two days.
