Greater burdock (biennial) greater burdock

In the past you could find it in every monastery garden. The root was used for healing purposes (Cocklebur oil) and as a food source. Today, it is considered in light diet to treat gastrointestinal discomforts. Wrongly fallen into oblivion. Preparation like black salsify. Height up to 200cm.

Sowing in rows with a distance of 30cm from March to July. Within rows the distance is 5-10cm. Is not demanding. Harvest the storable roots in October.
