Yellow rutabaga is a very versatile and low-maintenance root vegetable. It holds up well in storage and gives a pleasant addition to meals. Its yellow flesh brightens up vegetable plates all winter long.

Sow in mid-June to early August in rows 30 cm apart. Later, thin out rows to 10–12 cm between plants.

Zurich Z Selection Rutabaga, Turnip

These turnip roots boast a with a mild flavour and violet collared skin. It is a very productive field vegetable with varied uses. Eat fresh or turn it into sour turnips by processing them like sauerkraut.

Sow from mid-July to mid-August in rows 30 cm apart. Later, thin plants out to 15–20 cm between individual plants. Because of their later planting date, turnips work well as a crop following early vegetables. The harvest takes place in September to November.
