Foxtail millet, Highlander Foxtail millet, Millet, Grasses, Ornamental grasses

This millet is an ancient crop of Indo-European Germany. The bronze-coloured seed heads are so heavy that they incline to the ground. Today, the millet is grown mainly for ornamental purposes. They make popular autumn flowers. If the dry grains are not harvested for the kitchen, then the feathery spikes reseed the crop for next year. Height reaches 150 cm.

Sow in May directly to the field. Thin dense rows to 30 cm spacing. Foxtail millet loves sunny sites and also tolerates drought quite well.
