https://www.zollinger.bio/web/image/product.template/1025/image_1920?unique=25eb0ef

No other runner bean has been attributed with so many mystical stories like the Monstrance bean. Just look at the markings on the bean—are they the markings of a monstrance or an angel? In any event, they appear to be painted with the finest tipped brush imaginable on a noble white canvas. It stimulates the observer to long for the sacred.

Growing instructions

Sow these seeds in sun-warmed solid beginning in early May. Watch them sprout and climb up a stake (2.5 m) and flower then produce fruits. Towards autumn they will develop the pattern on their mature seeds. Keep these pods intact and let them dry. When Christmas time comes around, bring out your dried pods to shell. Everyone will admire the angel figures of each bean. The tender green pods can be harvested and eaten in summer and dried beans can be used in recipes all autumn and winter. Gardener Tip: Soak seeds for 12 hours in lukewarm chamomile tea before sowing.
