Pole bean, Purple from Muotathal

Phaseolus vulgaris ssp vulgaris var. vulgaris
https://www.zollinger.bio/web/image/product.template/1021/image_1920?unique=25eb0ef

The blue-podded Muotathaler bean adds that special something to your garden. Starting in the beginning of July until well into autumn, they give a rich harvest of tender, long, and naturally stringless pods. The deep pink flowers blossoms seem to decorate the garden with their contrast to the dark foliage. The beans are suitable for deep freezing, drying, and canning. Interestingly, when cooking Muotathaler, the blue colour magically disappears and turns to green.

Growing instructions

Sow from mid-May to the beginning of June at a distance of 60 cm. Place about 4 beans 2 cm deep in a circle pattern. As they say, “Beans must hear the bells ringing.” So do not sow them too deep. Stick a 2.5 m stake in the circle to give the beans a climbing trail for their tendrils. They respond well to ample compost. Gardener Tip: Soak seeds for 12 hours in lukewarm chamomile tea before sowing.
