Ground cherry (Husk tomato)
Physalis pruinosa
Pineapple cherry is the little sister of goldenberry from the Andes. The fruits are held in small papery lanterns which fall to the ground when ripe. They taste, as the name implies, slightly of pineapple. This exotic addition to your plot gives you exciting flavours hinting at the tropics. Begin harvest in August and continue until the first frost.
