An exotic, but easily cultivated plant. It grows to about 150 cm tall with bushy outgrowth. As it ages you will find light brown papery lanterns with an orange-yellow fruit in the center. The fruit after emerging from the papery lantern, the fruit looks like a cherry tomato, yet with a unique taste. It is very tempting and mainly enjoyed as a dessert fruit.
Sow at the beginning to the end of March in a warm place. Seedlings do very well in pots. In the field, transplant around May 20 at a distance of 100 cm. Tie plants up to a post for rigidity and protection from rain is not required.
