crucifer, cabbage family Brassica oleracea convar. botrytis var. botrytis

Coastal Selection Z Cauliflower

This attractive plant is one of the last open pollinated varieties that is still cultivated and sold in local markets. The plant forms a medium-sized main stem that is delicious and tender. After you harvest it, it will produce many side shoots, which can be cut continuously during the growing season. This tender vegetable has a fine taste.

Sow from March to mid-July in seedling trays. Space at a distance of 5 ✕ 5 cm for small plantlets. After 4 weeks, transplant into the open field at a distance of 40 ✕ 40 cm. Broccoli loves nutrient rich soil and uniform moisture. Make sure to give it some compost to encourage a bountiful yield!
