This particularly crispy lettuce originates from Trentino in northern Italy. The lose head is green on the inside, the edges of the leaves turn into a lovely dark-red. Slightly bitter flavour, like the Italians enjoy it, and very resistant to plant diseases.
Continuously sow in planters from March. Prick at the 3- to 5-leaf-stage. Plant out in the open from April. Plant distances 30x30cm. Cultivate as a mixed culture.
