A French heirloom variety with a bright orange skin. An ornament of the autumn season. The well tasting fruits are flat-round and can weight up to 10kg. Hold up well in tempered storage. Plant creeps strongly.
Plant a single seed in a 10cm pot in the middle of April (at about 20°C). Only lightly cover with soil or sand and keep evenly moist. Plant out from the 20th of May (Attention slug damage!) either at the base of the compost heap or in nutrient-rich soil. Frost-protected culture necessary. Plant distances 80-100cm in all directions. Harvest from September, but for sure before the first frost. Storage at a temperature of at least 15°C until February. Very much in need of warmth.
