(Sectaria italica). The foxtail millet is a heirloom crop from Indo-Germany. The bronze-coloured seed pods are so heavy, that they bend towards the ground. Nowadays it is mostly used in ornamental gardens. It is a popular autumn flower. In case the dried seeds don't find any usage in the kitchen, the feathered corn pickers take over voluntarily. Height up to 150cm, stable.
Directly sow in the spot in May. Thin out to 30cm if necessary. Foxtail millet loves sunny locations and copes well will drought.
