The deep-red, roundish leaves are the hallmark of this lettuce. Of particular interest to commercial growers is that it maintains its colour when cultivated in the greenhouse. It tastes great and is decorative in mixed salads.
Sow seeds in late March with a follow-up planting in September. Space rows at 10–15 cm apart. Harvest 2–3 times per planting.
