The summer pheasant's-eye is an endemic field herb. These days it is hard to find due to the usage of herbicides. However, it is a lovely plant with it bright red blossoms and fine-ribbed leaves. It deserves its German name “Adonisröschen” well (Adonis was a pretty youngling in the Greek mythology).
