This cute-shaped green rosette chicory yields the first fresh and early salads in both winter and spring. It add crunch to otherwise mundane meals. Traditionally, it is acts as a blood purifier and spring tonic.
Sow from late June to early August directly into the garden bed. Space rows at 25 cm. Harvest in late autumn from February to March. The leaves and roots are used in salads.
